Effect of Inlet Swirl on the Performance of Unequal Angle Annular Diffuser
Main Article Content
Abstract
The Present work investigates the effect of inlet swirl on the performance of unequal angle annular diffusers. The studies were conducted experimentally as well as computationally in order to determine the effect of inlet swirl coupled with casing wall divergence on the unequal angle annular diffuser with area ratio 2 & 3. The diffuser in the present study has been taken as unequal angle annular diffuser with fixed 5° angle for hub wall and casing angle was varied between 15° to 25°. Analysis was carried out with swirling flow having inlet swirl angle ranging between 0° to 25° in order to determine the performance as well as flow profile inside an annular diffuser. All the diffusers had same equivalent cone angle configurations of 20°.
