Main Article Content
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to provide insight on the contribution made by the International Journal of Maritime Engineering over the two decades using bibliometric analysis to gauge in terms of authors, affiliating institutions, countries, citation patterns, bibliometric coupling and co-occurrence analysis. For exploring and analysing 876 papers in the previous two decades, the VOSviewer was used. The current study reveals the contribution and direction of research over the past decade made by the journal. IJME has a significant contribution in the field of Maritime Engineering by having the contribution from India and United Kingdom with 158 publications, followed by China (100), Australia (99) and USA (43). In terms of authors, Davis, M.R. and Thomas, G. authored 26 research work followed by Soares, C.G. and Lavoff, J. with 20 and 17 respectively. Further, the keyword analysis depicted the dominance of ship, Computational fluid dynamics, hulls, ship propulsion, decision marking and forecasting, hydrodynamics and ship propulsion. Thus, this manuscript attempted to facilitate the policy makers, practitioners and future researchers to understand the expansion and contribution of area made by the aforesaid journal.
